So you've probably all seen the movie. Brilliant as it is my husband saw this being sold on a street corner and thought it'd cheer me up (still being trapped at home with the worlds worst headache, how infuriating!). When they say "Novelization of the Script" they are not kidding. It is word for word the movie, down to the smallest of details. As a book in itself it doesn't really tickle me. Admittedly it does give quite a bit more insight into Detective Finch's inner workings, but the characters seam to be lacking flesh, they remain shallow copies of the movie. Like 2d images walking around the real world, they feel just not quite right. I suppose in away that's irrelevant as the true hero of this tale is not a person but an idea. The idea of course being FREEDOM "Remember remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot, i know of no reason, why the gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot." For those few people out there who know nothing of this truly glorious tale, it follows a young woman called Evey Hammond, an aging Detective Finch, several questionable political party members, and a mysterious vernaculary gifted masked Hero. Following the historic tale of Guy Fawkes in a bid to rid England from a tyrannic goverment, ruling under the cruel iron eyes of the supreme High Chancellor. A twisted tale of great truth, unyielding evil, true beauty and revenge. Book or movie this is an absolute MUST for all, although i would defiantly recommend the movie over the book, i may read it again some time long into the future when my DVD becomes scratched beyond recognition, or save it for my children for that time when watching old movies becomes "so uncool" but it just doesn't do full justice to the idea behind the tale.............and you say i never give bad reviews.
I've collected and created so many short stories, I want to share them with the world. Most of my stories have a base of truth. Some of the names have been changed and a little creative license has been taken in their retelling. Some are complete works of fiction. Try and guess between them. I'm sure they'll surprise you.
