You will be glad i'm sure that this will be my last reading list entry for a while. I've been feeling much better this afternoon, if i had more than a few minuets tonight you would be reading the last installment of 'Speechless'. But as it is, i was just as miserable this morning as i've been all week so i've got a great book for you. The complete eight book edition of 'Deltora Quest' by Emily Rodda, i've had it on my mind since i read 'The crimson Chalice'. Emily Rodda is another wonderful childrens writer. I started this series when i was 14 but could never get my hands on the last books until now. Although for an adult these books can seem a little predictable and repetitive, i found it really enjoyable. We follow our young Hero Leif on a fantastic adventure to rid the kingdom of Deltora from the evil rule of the Shadow lord. He takes with him the trusted Barda, they meet a wild girl called Jasmin and her bird Kree. Together the trio travel all the land meeting new friends, and defeating extraordinary monsters and spellbound evils, collecting the precious stones that make up the magical Belt of Deltora. There is a great twist in the end, you do see it coming but Emily plays well on your doubts and spins the story around wonderfully before she concludes. It's just good fun: monsters, pirates, witches, lost tribes, soldiers, magic enchantments everywhere, and all in the midst of a secret revolution. I recommenced it as a fun bit of light reading for Adults and a imaginative adventure for young teens. A perfect bed time book for the kids. Will defiantly read it again, thanks Emily.
I've collected and created so many short stories, I want to share them with the world. Most of my stories have a base of truth. Some of the names have been changed and a little creative license has been taken in their retelling. Some are complete works of fiction. Try and guess between them. I'm sure they'll surprise you.
